Green Planet Catering Wins Again!
Sustainable NC Award Winner!
Raleigh, NC - November 10,2009 - The Sustainable North Carolina Awards, now in its eighth year, is one of the most widely recognized programs honoring those who are integrating social responsibility and environmental stewardship with sound financial performance. We are proud to showcase innovative efforts in North Carolina that are building long-term, sustainable prosperity.
This time for the first year, Sustainable NC asked three local caterers to face off with culinary creations from local, organic ingredients. Accepting the challenge were Square Rabbit, Green Planet Catering, and Kaplan Catering.
Along with Green Planet Catering's beautiful presentation including all locally grown flowers, hand written tile menus, and recycled metal platters, came an all local food spread that amazed the voting audience. North Carolina items included grilled lamb loin on polenta cakes with mint relish; Arugula pesto, oven-dried tomatoes, and NC hard cheeses on house made crustinis; and apple and goat cheese tarts.
Managing Partner, Daniel Whittaker, had these words to say while accepting their certificate "Thank you for having us back to participate again this year. I noticed as you all were trying the food that I recognized almost everyone as a current customer. Last year I barely knew anyone. Thanks for showing us your support and we'd love to continue feeding you all!"
